Neighbours and community members were invited to share their ideas for the future of the Arbutus Lands through a Visioning Process, led by a Visioning Team of highly respected land use professionals, academics and sustainability experts.
This public process was designed to be community-oriented, highly engaging and interactive. It began in February 2006 and concluded in early December 2006.
More than 1200 people expressed ideas through four workshops, four open houses, web survey, email, and an Info Centre. These ideas have resulted in a community-generated Vision for sustainable uses of the Arbutus Lands. Representatives of the Arbutus Lands Advisory Panel hosted an Open House, (held at Magee Secondary School on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 1 to 5 p.m.) where the Arbutus Lands Vision and key themes were on display.
